For winter athletes, 2014 was a very special year. The Winter Olympics in Sochi in Russia were the highlight of the competition season. For all athletes it was about honor and medals, we spectators feverishly followed for 2 weeks. For me, it has long since ceased to be about victories, medals or trophies – but in 2014 I also had Olympic anniversaries to celebrate. The Olympic Games in Sochi marked the 30th anniversary of my Olympic victory from the normal hill in Sarajevo in 1984 and the 20th anniversary of my Olympic victories from the large hill and with the team in Lillehammer. These anniversaries and my 50th birthday were reason enough: just in time for this, a coffee-table book was published in February 2014, peppered with pictures from my beginnings in ski jumping to the great successes.
